Update 8/7: Thompson will pick from Georgia, Alabama or Auburn at 7 pm Tuesday (8/12) at Westover high school. Clemson and USC have been dropped from contention.
Consensus 5-star defensive tackle Trent Thompson from Albany, GA has set his college decision date of next Tuesday (8/12). The date was chosen because it is his grandparents' anniversary date. Clemson will be one of his final five schools (hat on table) along with Alabama, Auburn, USC and Georgia. Most recruiting analysts have him as a heavy lean to Georgia. If he goes elsewhere, it will be a huge upset in the world of recruiting. Several recruiting services have Thompson as the nation's #1 overall player for 2015. He has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, USC and many others. In 2013, he had 83 tackles and 12 sacks. In 2012, he had 65 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 5 sacks.
