Rising sophomore linebacker Jake Venables from Central, South Carolina was offered by SMU on Wednesday according to his Twitter account.
He is the son of Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables. Venables looked impressive with good technique during the 2015 Dabo Swinney Football Camp. SMU was his third football offer along with Clemson and Texas Tech. Clemson offered first on June 9th. Venables plans to visit Notre Dame this weekend. Honored and Thankful to have received an offer from SMU. #PonyUpTempo ?????? pic.twitter.com/PrSxOEEQc6
