Two-star wide receiver Jayson Hopper from Lexington, S.C. has accepted a preferred walk-on position at Clemson on Tuesday evening according to his Twitter account.
Hopper tweeted the following about his decision to attend Clemson University. "Because of Gods Grace, I'm grateful to announce that I will not be attending any of the colleges I have offers from but will be taking a different path and taking a year off of football to get my grades up to take my preferred walk-on to Clemson University. My dream is to play in a Tiger uniform and I'm willing to sacrifice what could be good now to receive what will be great later. Everything didn't work out the way I would of liked but I'm following God here not Jayson. There are plenty of walk-on football players that become the best at what they do. I can't wait for my dream to become a REALITY. Thank you everyone who stuck with me and supported me through the past 4 years of my life. The Best is Yet to Come!" Hopper had offers from App State, Garner-Webb and Presbyterian College. TigerNet saw him at the last two Dabo Swinney Football camps and this year's Shrine Bowl and was impressed by his route-running skills and hands. Blessed to announce where I will be headed to college next year. #AllIn..#sorta
Congrats to EPT WR trainee Jayson @hopperhopps Hopper on excepting the preferred walk-on to Clemson. Lets Grind https://t.co/kzmfHTzwU0
