Height: 6-2   Weight: 235   Hometown: Matthews, NC (Butler HS)   Class: 2007

Friday afternoon Ryan Houston announced his decision to verbally commit to North Carolina. Clemson had made strong progress with the bruising tailback, but an early decision cost the Tigers.

This was a big commitment for the Tar Heels. Houston joins highly touted quarterback Mike Paulus in what is a strong start for the Tar Heels. John Bunting has struggled on the field, but if he is given time, he is putting together a nice core of young talent in Chapel Hill.

For Houston, everything seemed right in Chapel Hill.

"This is a good opportunity for me. I am very excited to be a Tar Heel. I know Coach Bunting is turning things around, and we are going to win an ACC title."
