Clemson signee Cornelius Randolph was drafted on Monday evening in the first round (10th overall) by the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Phillies rated Randolph as the top high school batter available in the MLB draft. “There’s a lot of players you could compare him to,” Phillies scouting director Johnny Almaraz told Philly.com. “You’ve seen his swing he’s got a lot of similarities with a lot of pretty good left-handed hitters, I don’t want to mention any names, several. I mean guys who are batting champions, this guy has that kind of ability.” Randolph was the only Clemson signee or player to be selected in the first round. Rounds 3-10 start Tuesday at 1 PM. Whatever happens I know I'm blessed and I'm just blessed to be in the situation I am in. I'll remember this night forever #MLBDraft
