One of the nation's top-rated 2019 offensive guards included Clemson in his top-5 schools on Saturday evening.
Four-star OL Will Putnam (Tampa, Fla.) has Clemson in a group with instate Florida and Florida State, as well as Georgia and Auburn. "Honestly, I just want to wake up one day and say, 'Man, this is the school I really want to go to,'" Putnam told a radio outlet of his timeline. "I'd really like to (decide) before school starts, but if not, I'll take into the fall. That doesn't really bother me. I just want to make the right choice and go from there." He is rated as high as the No. 5 offensive guard nationally by both ESPN and 247Sports and a consensus top-120 prospect overall. Putnam visited Clemson shortly after receiving an offer in March and has also visited his other finalists, around adding offers from Southern Cal, Texas and Oregon.
