4-star 2017 safety C.J. Avery from Grenada, Mississippi (Grenada HS) had Clemson in his top five schools on Friday afternoon according to his Twitter account.
"Thank you to all schools that recruited me, but these are My 5 schools that I will decide from," Avery tweeted. "I now turn all my focus to our Grenada HS football team and trying to win a state championship!" Avery's top five schools in no order were Clemson, Florida State, Ole Miss, Louisville, and Mississippi State. The talented defender has offers from Alabama, Arizona, California, Cincinnati, Clemson, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Penn State, Southern Mississippi, Stanford, Tennessee and Texas-San Antonio. He received his Clemson offer on 4/21/16. As a junior, Avery had 76 tackles, five interceptions and one fumble recovery for a touchdown.
