4-star 2017 safety
Michael Carter II from Douglasville, Georgia (South Paulding HS) visited Clemson on Monday.
TigerNet spoke with him after he finished with his visit and he said that he had a great time. "Overall I enjoyed everything about Clemson, and it was a good visit," Carter said. "First, we talked to the academic specialist people and toured the whole academic facility they have for athletes," Carter said. "Then we rode around campus and went to the indoor practice facility and the new facility that's being built. After that, we went back to the football facility, and we saw the players chill room and the dining area. We also saw the weight room and talked to the defensive coordinator Brent Venables a little bit. Then we wrapped it up with talking to Coach Reed." Clemson is currently recruiting him on the defensive side of the ball. "Recruiting me as a corner but I can play nickel safety or anywhere on the defense," Carter said. He is not ready to announce any favorites but plans to visit Clemson again soon. "No top group," Carter said. "Next visit will probably be the ALL IN cookout in July. I got South Carolina and North Carolina next week, and we'll see after that." In 2015, he had named to the Region 5-5A First team all-region team after posting 78 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception.
