Boyd told the media that Joyner made his comments at the ACC Kickoff in July. Watkins, who is usually quiet and reserved around the media, was asked about the difference between the on-field Watkins and the off-field Watkins. “Well Florida St., I kind of know those guys and they do a lot of talking,” Watkins said Tuesday. “That is one team that I do talk a lot on. Just to keep me going, keep me blocking, keep me physical and being aggressive. And those guys do a good job of doing it back. It’s a great thing. It’s all just love out on the football field, just out there competing. But that’s one team that if they had a mic, I would probably be in trouble.” Watkins said trash talk runs the gamut. “I’ve heard the craziest things,” he said. “You suck and everything and anything out there on the field. I kind of know most of those guys out there on defense, and it kind of stays level. It gets out of hand sometimes, but that is just football."
