Sammy Watkins leaves practice on Thursday |
Former Clemson wide receiver
Sammy Watkins
Sammy Watkins Watkins knows that he needs to be careful not to re-aggravate the hip injury. "Certain days you've got to take off," Watkins said via the Buffalo News. "Certain days I feel good, certain days I've got to work through the stiffness that's prone to the injury." The coaching staff decided that he was not 100% and Watkins took the rest of practice off. "I ain’t got the burst and the speed – I’m kind of sore – why not sit out a day instead of going out there and creating an injury or something. ... It’s only the second week, so coach is smart about taking me out today." Update: Watkins did not practice on Friday and should be ready to go to Saturday. Watkins had 65 catches for 982 yards and six touchdowns in his rookie season (started all 16 games). He was also rookie of the week three times during the season and had four games with more than 100 receiving yards.
