Report: Clemson headed to Russell Athletic Bowl

#17 Clemson (9-3) will be headed to the Russell Athletic Bowl to face the Oklahoma Sooners on Dec 29th at 5:30 PM EST at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, Fla.

The game will be televised by ESPN.

An interesting story-line is Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables will play his former team in Oklahoma. Under Venables' guidance, Clemson leads the nation in total defense (259.6ypg).

Clemson is 1-2 vs. Oklahoma all-time. Last meeting was a 13-6 win in the 1989 Citrus Bowl.
