The Detriot Lions announced that rookie defensive end Austin Bryant has been placed on the team's injured reserve list on Monday.

Bryant has been dealing with an upper-body injury the last month and also was coming back from his offseason surgery for a torn pectoral muscle injury.

Since he was placed on the injured reserve, he will be available to play as soon as week nine against the Oakland Raiders.

Bryant was selected in the fourth round out of Clemson in the 2018 NFL Draft.

He earned first-team All-American honors in 2017 with 15.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks and picked up all-bowl selections this past season after a playoff run that included four tackles for loss and two sacks.

The Pavo, Georgia product totaled 153 tackles, 35 for loss, with 20 sacks and 32 QB pressures over 51 games (29 starts).
