Former Clemson defensive back Crezdon Butler was released by CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders this weekend.

In two seasons with the Roughriders, the 32-year old had 70 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble.

General manager Jeremy O'Day had to make the tough decision to cut Butler.

"My job is to look at the future, these tough decisions have to be mad," he said at Saturday's press conference. "Crezdon is a great pro, we wish him the best."

Butler has 27 career tackles and two forced fumbles while playing for seven different NFL teams including Pittsburgh (2010), Arizona (2011), Washington (2011-2012), Buffalo (2012-2013), San Diego (2013), Tampa Bay (2014), and Detroit (2015-2016). He appeared in two playoff games with the Chargers in 2013 and played in a total of 46 career NFL games.

He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round (#164 overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. At Clemson, he finished his collegiate career with 166 tackles, two sacks, and eleven interceptions.
