Clemson OT will not start against Wake Forest due to personal issue

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said that starting right tackle Joe Gore has missed practice time this week due to a "personal crisis issue" and will not start against Wake Forest.

"Sometimes personal things pop up and there are things more important than football," Swinney said. "We will love him through all of what he is dealing with."

Freshman Jake Fruhmorgen will get the start. Swinney said that he expects Gore to be at the game and available to play.

"Jake is not a rookie anymore," said Swinney. "This is game 11. He's played quite a bit. He's played well. He's practiced a ton. He will be just fine."

Gore is expected back at practice Thursday or Friday.
