Catanzaro, Pinion holding kicking camp

Two of the state’s NFL players, Bradley Pinion and Chandler Catanzaro, are hosting the Palmetto State Special Teams Camp on Sat., July 16 in Greenville. The motivational and instructional camp is geared towards kickers, punters and long snappers, ages 13-18.

The Palmetto State Special Teams Camp will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with registration beginning at 8 a.m. The camp will be held at Christ Church Episcopal School, located at 245 Cavalier Dr.

Pinion is a punter for the San Francisco 49ers. He was drafted in the 5th round of the 2015 Draft. During his rookie season he played in 15 games, recording a career high 62-yard punt. At Clemson, Pinion holds the record for the most punts inside the 20 during a single season, forcing opponents to fair catch his punts 44 percent of the time.

Catanzaro is a kicker for the Arizona Cardinals. He set an NFL Rookie record with 16 consecutive field goals without a miss and then tied the NFL record with 17 consecutive field goals. Catanzaro is Clemson’s all-time leading scorer, and holds the school record for career field goal accuracy. Catanzaro was a three-time All-ACC selection, three-time Academic All-ACC Selection and four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll member.
