CBSSports.com Bowl Projection for Clemson |
The college football season is almost here as California will face Hawaii at ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia on Friday, Aug. 26. Yes you read correctly, the first contest of the long-awaited 2016-2017 season will be in the land of wild kangaroos and cuddly koala bears.
CBSSports.com has released its preseason bowl projections and Clemson (0-0) is projected to play No.3 seed Alabama in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 31 in Atlanta, Georgia. "Last year's national runner up, Clemson, is projected at No. 2," CBSSports.com said. "The Tigers return most of one of last season's top offenses, including Heisman Trophy contender Deshaun Watson. The Tigers' biggest road block should come in ACC play at Florida State." The other playoff projection was Oklahoma (#1 overall seed) vs. Notre Dame (#4 overall seed) in the Fiesta Bowl. Other selection committee bowl games included projections for the Sugar Bowl (Oklahoma State vs. LSU), Rose Bowl (Ohio State vs. Stanford), Cotton Bowl (Iowa vs. Houston), and the Orange Bowl (FSU vs. Georgia). Clemson's rival in-state football program South Carolina was not included in any of the 40 bowl projections.
