Bucs optimistic Bowers can return in 2012

by -

Tampa Bay general manager Mark Dominik told ESPN on Monday morning said that he is optimistic that former Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers could return at some point this season from his torn Achilles tendon.

“He’s ahead of schedule in terms of his surgery was very successful,’’ Dominik said. “His rehab has been very successful. The only thing we’re doing now is limiting what he can do to try to keep him from overexerting himself because he feels so good.’’

Bowers will start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list which means he will have to miss the first 6 games. Then the team will make a decision if he can return.
