Wake Forest ACC-leading WR out for season |
Clemson's opponent this week took a hit for this week and beyond as redshirt sophomore Sage Surratt was ruled out for the season for Wake Forest after an injury last week.
Wake Forest coach Dave Clawson announced the news in his weekly press conference on Tuesday. Surratt was leading the ACC by almost 200 receiving yards (1,001) and also pacing the league in TDs (11). Surratt did not play against Clemson as a freshman. Wake's third-leading receiver will also be out for Saturday in senior Scotty Washington (35 catches/607 yards/7 TDs). Yes, Clawson said this today on Scotty Washington:
Dave Clawson announces Sage Surratt is out for the season with an injury. Didn’t specify the injury but did say he would need surgery.
"Scotty Washington will not play this week. Scotty is not out for the year – I’m not sure when he’ll be back. But this week is not looking good. We’ll just play it as it goes. At some point, hopefully we’ll have him back." https://t.co/7vuo8GTgHw
