Clemson linebacker Jamie Skalski has been a big part of the impressive performances of the defense through three games this season.

Skalski spoke to the media Monday and said that defensive coordinator Brent Venables is a mastermind of preparation.

"That's why I came here (Venables), honestly to play for a guy like that who literally is a mastermind with what he is doing," Skalski said. "It's really fun looking back at a win like that and even the last three weeks and looking at the plan you have in place and how well you execute it."

Skalski had seven tackles including 1.5 sacks in the 41-6 win over Syracuse.
