Report: Alabama to shuffle QBs versus Clemson |
An AL.com report released this evening says Alabama is expected to
have some degree of QB rotation.
Returning starting QB Jalen Hurts played last year versus Clemson and scored in the final minutes to go ahead, before Deshaun Watson answered with a last-second passing touchdown. Hurts has played the bulk of the snaps and attempted 80.7 percent of the passes this season. The AL.com report says freshman and former five-star dual-threat Tua Tagovailoa is "expected to play some" to give the Crimson Tide another facet in the passing game. Tagovailoa has completed 66 percent of his passes for 470 yards with eight touchdowns to one interception over eight games. Hurts has made all 12 starts with a 60.8 completion rate, 1,940 passing yards and 15 touchdowns to one interception. Tagovailoa has only attempted 15 rushes for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Hurts has attempted 137 rushes for 768 yards and eight touchdowns. Tua Tagovailoa out warming up with Mac Jones before the other quarterbacks are on the field pic.twitter.com/S3BmFkRsCe
