A three-way battle at the top of the Atlantic Division made way for a fourth contender this weekend when Florida State swept Clemson in Tallahassee.
The Tigers, who came into last week ranked as high as No. 13 (Collegiate Baseball), fell to No. 23 in the Baseball America top 25 and No. 24 in the D1Baseball rankings on Monday. The top-two in the division standings going into the week were both swept, as NC State (29-8, 12-6) fell to No. 9 and Louisville (20-6, 13-5) moved up to as high as No. 7 and atop the Atlantic by a game with three wins over the Wolfpack in Raleigh. Florida State (18-7, 10-8) sits just a game back of Clemson (25-11, 11-7) now. Monte Lee's Tigers will look to bounce back this weekend hosting Duke (20-16, 8-10) but first they head to Athens on Tuesday for a matchup with No. 4 Georgia (7 p.m./SEC Network). After this week, Clemson has trips to top-15-ranked Georgia Tech and NC State and wraps conference action at home versus Wake Forest. In the RPI rankings, Louisville paces the conference (5), followed by Georgia Tech (14), UNC (19), Miami (20), Clemson (24) and NC State (26) to round out the top-40 teams.
