ESPN's Palmer on Bryant's transfer: "It's a premature decision" |
The transfer news of
Kelly Bryant has national media pundits talking 24/7 with their hot takes and differing opinions. Get used to transfer discussions because the new redshirt rule will keep the transfers flowing year in and year out.
ESPN's Jesse Palmer talked about his past experiences as a quarterback while at Florida (1997-2000, before The Bachelor show). "Hate the decision because he is a leader on this team," Palmer said. "Just because you are not the starting quarterback doesn’t mean you can’t be a leader. My senior year at Florida I was a captain and lost my starting job 5 games in to Rex Grossman. I didn’t pout. I was a leader. I was expected to go to practice, compete and encourage my teammates. I waited for my chance to get back on the field. Things worked out for me. I was still a fourth-round pick. Palmer thinks that Clemson was obviously one injury away from Bryant getting a ton of snaps. "Trevor Lawrence has looked great but he could struggle any day now," he said. "He could get hurt against Syracuse this weekend and all of sudden it is Kelly Bryant’s team again. It’s a premature decision. But unfortunately, this is the reality you are going to see year in and year out with this new redshirt rule."
