
Clemson ranked in Coaches, drop out in AP poll |
Clemson men's basketball fell out of the AP Top 25 and hung on to a place in the Coaches after dropping its first game of the season last week to Creighton.
The 5-1 Tigers host 5-1 Nebraska tonight (7 p.m./ESPN2) in a battle of two teams rated in the top-35 of the KenPom efficiency rankings, with Clemson No. 24 and Nebraska No. 31. Gonzaga moved to No. 1 in the AP poll and the ACC is represented by Duke (3), Virginia (4), UNC (11), Virginia Tech (13), and Florida State (15). Clemson came in second in the receiving votes category (135), behind Arizona State (156). Clemson is ranked No. 24 by the Coaches after rising as high as No. 16. Gonzaga also leads that poll, followed by Kansas, Duke, Virginia and Michigan. The Tigers won their only meeting with Nebraska in the 2016-17 ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup, also in Clemson. Clemson is 11-7 all-time in the inter-conference battle.
