Clemson gains No. 1 votes in latest Coaches Poll |
Clemson increased its lead atop of college football in the Coaches Poll on Sunday.
The No. 1 Tigers have 60 first-place votes, up two from last week, to No. 2 Alabama’s three. Georgia, Oklahoma and LSU round out the top-five. Clemson is one of three teams nationally with two wins over Power 5 conference teams already (UNC and Hawaii the others). Outside of the Tigers’ 24-10 win over former No. 12 Texas A&M, LSU had the marquee win of the weekend with a 45-38 win at former No. 9 Texas. Clemson is the lone ACC team ranked after Syracuse's blowout loss at Maryland. Virginia is next-best in other teams receiving votes.
