Clemson, Oklahoma schedule series in 2030s |
A home-and-home series between Clemson and Oklahoma has been agreed on, according to a FBSchedules report. You're just going to have to wait a while.
Under the agreement, Clemson would first host the Sooners in 2035 and then Oklahoma would host Clemson in 2036. The last three meetings between the schools have come in postseason action with the 2015 Playoff Orange Bowl (a 37-17 Clemson win), the 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl (a 40-6 Clemson win) and the 1989 Citrus Bowl (a 13-6 Clemson win). Oklahoma has never played in Death Valley but the Tigers have been to Oklahoma twice, resulting in a 3-2 Clemson advantage in the series. “This series against Oklahoma is yet another example of our longstanding commitment to adding another Power Five opponent to our schedule beyond our annual rivalry game with South Carolina,” Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich said in a news release Wednesday. “We look forward to two of the sport’s premier programs facing one another in Death Valley in 2035 and in Norman in 2036. In marquee out of conference games over the next decade-plus, Clemson wraps up a home-and-home series with Texas A&M in Memorial Stadium in September, plays at Notre Dame in 2020 and 2022 and hosts the Fighting Irish in 2023, meets Georgia in the Chick-Fil-A Classic in Atlanta in 2024, takes on LSU in a home-and-home battle in 2025-26, plays Notre Dame home-and-home in 2027-28 and has a series with Georgia in 2029-30.
