Clemson Football held kids combine to raise money for charity

Clemson, SC – The Clemson Chapter of Uplifting Athletes held its first annual Kids Combine to support the Rare Disease community on Saturday, July 15th at the Clemson Football Indoor Practice Facility. Almost 40 kids, between the ages of 2-12 years old, were on hand for the inaugural event. In total, the Tigers raised $2,000 in support of the Rare Disease community.

The Clemson Football Chapter of Uplifting Athletes created the Kids Combine as a way to teach the local youth basic football skills. The team held a 7-event workout circuit emulating a typical Tiger offseason workout. Each young athlete participated in position drills focusing on football fundamentals and finishing with a show of strength in a tug-of-war. The kids showed strength in numbers as 30 of them teamed up to drag an overmatched player to come out victorious in one of many heated battles over the tug-of-war rope.

Monday, July 17th, Clemson Football Uplifting Athletes will continue to live out their mission of inspiring the Rare Disease community with hope, through the power of sport by hosting its 2nd annual Lift for Life. Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of chapters led by college football student-athletes. The 2017 Clemson Chapter Lift For Life pits the offense against the defense competing to knockout as many bench press reps of 225 as possible. Fans and supporters can make a pledge for every bench press rep on average a particular team records during the event.
