Alabama LB says Clemson game "took a toll" physically |
Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson and the Crimson Tide lost a heartbreaker to Clemson two weeks ago in Tampa, but the game did more than just break the hearts of Alabama players and fans.
It took a physical toll, Anderson told AL.com. "I couldn't walk the next day, man," he said. "No, I really couldn't. My legs were hurting. It took like three or four days to get my legs back. I was limping around a little bit. So, it definitely took a toll on me." The Crimson Tide defense was on the field for 99 plays against the Tigers, and Clemson won the game 35-31 on a touchdown pass from Deshaun Watson to Hunter Renfrow with one second remaining on the game clock. Anderson played 88 snaps against the Tigers, collecting seven tackles, one sack and two forced fumbles. "I was doing everything to put my team in a position and finish out what we started," he said. "We lost to a good [Clemson] team with good players. It is what it is. I hate the way it ended. But I don't have any regrets. I laid it all out there. I left everything on the field and my best wasn't enough. But I left it all out there."
