Will Coach Purnell sign any more players for next year, and do you see anyone leaving the program?

I believe the staff would like to add a physical post player. They could benefit by adding a player that resembles Kevin Bookout of Oklahoma or Jason Frasor of Villanova. The only area I see left to fill on this team is a really physical rebounder. My sources are hinting to me that one player could be leaving the team. An announcement may come over the next few weeks as Purnell has his season's end meetings. Out of respect to the player and his family, we will wait for the school to make an announcement.

Is Akeem Robinson having trouble finding a place on the team?

The staff now has seen Robinson on both sides of the ball, and it appears he will stay on offense. Look for Robinson to eventually find a home at tight end. This was a move Mickey advocated on his show prior to the spring. Robinson runs very well and has good athleticism. Also, he possesses a great wing span that could really benefit him at tight end.

So when are the real uniforms being revealed?

Those are the uniforms the team will be wearing this fall. They will not wear them in the spring game. The uniforms pictured were just demos. I can tell you they took more pictures today following practice with the players wearing pads underneath the uniforms. Everyone is up in arms about the uniforms now, simply because we do not keep score in April. If this team wins games, the last thing you will hear on is how ugly the uniforms are. Oregon's uniforms are nightmares, but they won a BCS bowl in them and suddenly everyone did not care about the uniform. The players themselves love the new material of the uniform, so there is some positive.

Is Coach Leggett on the hot seat?

In my opinion, Coach Leggett will be back next year and is not on the hot seat. This is a very young team and they are fitting the mold perfectly. One night the bats are on fire and the pitchers are wild, then tonight Faris throws a complete game 5-hitter and they only produce one run. The draft has hurt this program, but that happens to all good programs. Coach Leggett is making the adjustments, and there is a very bright future right around the corner.

However to address the hot seat, in college athletics you never know anymore. Clemson baseball is taken very seriously, and they are headed for the third consecutive season to fall shy of 40 wins. I did not believe Coach Jim Davis would be forced to resign, so you never can be too sure. In my honest opinion, Coach Leggett deserves at least one more year.
