has an impressive offer list, including Florida St., Notre Dame, Alabama, LSU and UCLA. However, McCrary still remembers that very first offer, and that school leads for his services.

McCrary is a 2014 4-star wide receiver out of Miami (FL) Coral Reed, a one-time Florida St. commitment who now says that Clemson has a slight lead over the Seminoles. McCrary backed off from his commitment to Florida St. back in November.

He told TigerNet this weekend that his relationship with the Clemson coaches is one of the reasons he has the Tigers on top.

“Clemson was the first school to offer me, and I am very excited about the way the program is headed,” McCrary said. “All of the coaches there are great, especially Coach [Jeff] Scott and Coach [Brent] Venables. I have gotten to know them very well, and the program fits what I want to be as a receiver. I love how they throw the ball.”

He says he has also enjoyed getting to know offensive coordinator Chad MorrisChad Morris

.

“I didn’t meet him until early December,” he said. “He came down and went to one of my basketball games. It was fun to meet him. That was the first time meeting him, but I am going up to Clemson for an official visit on February 1st, so I am very excited about that. I am sure I will talk more with him then.”

McCrary said he has been a big fan of the Tigers over the past few seasons.

“Actually, I have been watching them since Sammy [Watkins] came in,” he said. “I have been watching him and the other great receivers they have in the program. I love how they go about it, and it is nice how they throw the ball a lot and get the ball to their playmakers.”

He said he also took note of the game that Nuk Hopkins had against LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

“He had a great game, and I wasn’t surprised at all that he went into the NFL Draft after the season he had,” he said.

McCrary says he has several things he wants to accomplish on his visit.

“I will be meeting everyone when I go up there,” he said. “Clemson is just a great school with great academics and a great football program. I want to see the academic side of things, and I am also hearing how they are improving their facilities. I am excited to see what they are doing, including the new indoor practice facility.”

He said he is still hearing from schools all over the country, but Clemson is the leader.

“Florida St., Florida and West Virginia are the three schools besides Clemson that are recruiting me the hardest,” he said. “I am not sure when I want to commit, because this is still a thinking process for me. But Clemson is still the leader.”

McCrary finished last season with 13 receptions 311 yards, but eight of his catches went for touchdowns. He also missed a good portion of the season with a sprained PCL.
