Stuckey's Status Doubtful for Duke |
CLEMSON - As the players around him continue to get healthy, Clemson wide receiver Chansi Stuckey continues to limp.
Troubled by a recurring problem with a sprained ankle, Stuckey was a non-factor in Clemson's overtime win at Miami last Saturday. Tuesday, head coach Tommy Bowden didn't appear too optimistic about the sophomore's chances to contribute much this weekend at Duke. "He's still hobbling around. To me, doesn't look very good," Bowden said following practice. "He's was hobbling around in the game, and you can't have a skill guy out there like that. They're not very productive. "I would say (Duke) would not look good for him." Meanwhile, whip linebacker Eric Sampson has been cleared to practice by the school's medical staff. He had the wires removed from his broken jaw earlier this week. If he plays Saturday it will be in a reserve role behind Tremaine Billie. How much he plays remains to be seen. "His legs ought to be fresh. He's been on vacation for six weeks," Bowden joked. The only other injury of note is fullback Cliff Harrell, who continues to recover from a sprained ankle. Harrell was in a yellow jersey Tuesday, which means no contact.
