That object streaking across the sky isn’t Superman, and it isn’t a UFO.

It actually could be Superman, or least Clemson’s version of the comic book hero, as Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris is hot on the recruiting trail.

Thursday, Morris was back in Buffalo, N.Y. to check on quarterback prospect Chad Kelly Chad Kelly

for his second visit of the spring evaluation period, and Kelly told TigerNet Thursday afternoon that Morris’ visit was part of an exciting day.

“He got to the school and spent a good three or three-and-a-half hours with my coach,” Kelly said. “Of course, because of the rules, I really didn’t get to talk to him. But we talked on the phone last night, and we talk about girls, we talk about church and we even talk about my parents. He is a great coach, a nice guy and I love everything about him.”

Kelly had just entered his last class of the day, when one of his friends told him that ESPN NFL Analyst Adam Schefter had tweeted about Kelly, and even sent him a personal message.

“One of my friends asked me if I had seen Twitter, and I told him no, that I wasn’t really allowed to use the phone in school,” Kelly said. “But after he said that, I saw where he had posted a story about me and then he sent me a personal message. He said ‘Best of luck to you. Make sure you work harder than everybody else, and I will follow you during your college career and into the NFL.’ That was pretty cool.”

Kelly left school, and was just walking out when his phone rang, and he said it was the dad of Clemson tight end commitment Eric MacLain.

“We sat with them at the baseball game the night before the Clemson spring game,” he said. “And then we sat with them at the spring game, and he is like Clemson’s personal recruiter because he knows so much about them. We talked about everything. Today, his dad was calling to see if I was coming to the Clemson camp this summer, because he has a younger kid that is going to be there. They are a great family.”

Kelly said he still doesn’t have a favorite among his 12 offers, but can tell the schools that really want him.

“I am getting calls from more and more schools,” he said. “But you can tell the difference between the schools that are just talking to you and that ones that really want you. I can tell that Clemson really wants me. I hear from the dad of Clemson commitment today, and I talk to Coach Morris all the time. I even hear from people I met while I was down there. Right now, I am just trying to cherish the moment.”
