Clemson, SC-Clemson averaged over 77,000 fans for its seven 2002 home football games based on numbers released by Clemson on Monday. The per game average ranks ninth all-time.
Clemson had a total paid attendance of 542,675 for its seven home games in 2002, an average of 77,525 per game. Based on current NCAA rankings the average will place Clemson 17th in the nation on a per game basis. Clemson had two crowds of at least 80,000 last year, including the South Carolina game which was in the top ten in school history. Clemson sold 56,808 season tickets this year, second highest figure since 1990. Clemson has now had five of the top ten single game attendance figures and four of the top ten single season averages under current head coach Tommy Bowden.
