OFFENSIVE BACKS - Spencer Romine (QB) Duke

Duke's Spencer Romine threw for a career-high 404 yards, the most by a Blue Devil quarterback since 1989, in leading the Blue Devils to a 25-22 victory at Maryland. The Cullman, Ala., senior completed 27-of-42 passes with three TD passes. He engineered Duke on a 12-play, 70-yard drive in the game's final five minutes to put Duke in the lead to stay. Romine has averaged 288.0 yards passing in his five starts this season.

OFFENSIVE LINEMAN - Jason Burks (G) Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech guard Jason Burks helped seventh-ranked Georgia Tech to a 48-21 victory over NC State as he paved the way for 513 yards of offense. The Yellow Jackets gained 266 yards rushing despite playing without their top two tailbacks. Third-team tailback Sean Gregory, now the starter, rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries, and his backup Sidney Ford, a true freshman playing for the first time, added 49 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Tech leads the ACC and ranks 11th nationally in rushing. Burks graded 88 percent and allowed no QB sacks or pressures.

DEFENSIVE LINEMAN - Corey Simon (NG) Florida State

Florida State's 6-4, 275-pound noseguard Corey Simon totaled eight tackles, including five solo stops, and one tackle for a loss in a 35-10 win at Virginia Saturday. The Pompano Beach, Fla., senior also recorded his first career interception that set up FSU's go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter and had one sack, three third-down stops and a blocked punt.

DEFENSIVE BACK - Dextra Polite (CB) Clemson

Clemson's Dextra Polite provided the two biggest defensive plays of the 12-3 Clemson victory at Wake Forest. First, on a second-and-goal from the Clemson two, Polite stopped leading rusher Morgan Kane with a one-on-one tackle at the one. The Tigers ended up holding Wake Forest to a field goal. Later, after Clemson had taken a 5-3 lead in the fourth period, Polite made a one-handed interception at midfield and returning it 27 yards. Polite ended the day with seven tackles, and the interception, in 63 plays.

SPECIALIST - Keith Cottrell (P) Florida State

Florida State punter Keith Cottrell, a 6-4, 205-pound junior from Orlando played a key role in the Seminoles' 35-10 win over Virginia Saturday. Cottrell punted six times for an average of 47.8 yards vs. Virginia, including a season-long 53-yarder and one punt inside the 20 yard line.

ROOKIE - Koren Robinson (WR) NC State

Koren Robinson, a redshirt freshman from Belmont, N.C., had five catches for 168 yards in the loss to No. 7 Georgia Tech Saturday, resetting his own NC State freshman record for receiving yards in a game. Robinson scored a touchdown on a 70-yard catch, the longest reception for a Wolfpack wide receiver this season.
