ATLANTA (November 6, 2007) - Chick-fil-A Bowl representatives Art Gregory and George Haney will visit Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C., on Saturday to scout the Wake Forest-Clemson game. The two teams are being scouted as potential representatives in the 2007 Chick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31.

The ACC and SEC team selections for the 40th edition of the Bowl are scheduled to be announced Dec. 3. The Chick-fil-A Bowl is the oldest guaranteed ACC vs. SEC match-up in the bowl business.

Wake Forest (6-3, 4-2 ACC) is currently tied with Clemson for second in the Atlantic Division and is unranked. Wake Forest is coming off a one-point loss to Virginia. The Demon Deacons have never appeared in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Clemson (7-2, 4-2 ACC) is currently tied with Wake Forest for second in the Atlantic Division and is ranked #21 in the BCS Standings. Clemson is currently riding a three-game winning streak. The Tigers have appeared in the Chick-fil-A Bowl six times, most recently in 2003.

Clemson leads the series against Wake Forest, 55-16. The game will kick off at noon, and be televised by ESPN2.

The Chick-fil-A Bowl is the longest-running rivalry series of top-ranked teams from the ACC and SEC and is recognized as one of the most competitive bowl games in the nation over the last 20 years. The Chick-fil-A Bowl owns exclusive rights to the first selection in the ACC - after the BCS - and will increase its total team payout to $5.83 million in 2007. Last year's game between #14 Virginia Tech and Georgia marked the Bowl's 10th consecutive sellout and helped the Bowl retain its position as the highest-attended non-BCS bowl over the last 10 years. The 40th annual Chick-fil-A Bowl will be played Monday, Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m. and will be nationally televised by ESPN. Visit Chick-fil-ABowl.com for more information.
