Basketball's Bains debut delayed

by -

CLEMSON, SC -- Guard Pasha Bains, a transfer from Wyoming, was supposed to play his first game December 11 against South Carolina St. However, after a review of NCAA rules Clemson officials have discovered that Bains must miss the South Carolina St game as well. His debut will be the following game against archrival South Carolina on December 16.

Sport information director Tim Bouret said the rule was previously interpreted that a player was eligible 24 hours after they have finished their own exams. However after the review it was determined that players are not eligible to play until 24 hours after the final exam period is finished at a school.
