DURHAM, N.C. -- UC Irvine retained the No. 1 ranking in the Baseball America Top 25 rankings thanks to a pair of midweek wins against Oregon and a weekend series win at Utah.
The top four teams in the rankings remained the same, as Irvine, Rice, Arizona State and North Carolina all posted winning weeks. Cal State Fullerton and Mississippi each jumped up four spots to Nos. 6 and 7, respectively. The Titans swept UC Davis over the weekend and allowed only one run in the entire series, while the Rebels took two of three against Georgia, which slid from No. 8 to No. 11.
Kansas State continued its impressive season by making the biggest jump of any team the rankings. Fellow Big 12 member Texas A&M also made a sizeable leap, moving up four spots to No. 20 thanks to a series win over Oklahoma State that put the Aggies in first place in the league. Baylor, which has lost six in a row, plummeted eight spots to 17th.
