Frank, Pyzik Sign Free Agent Contracts

Clemson, SC - Kyle Frank (Wolfeboro, NH) signed a free agent contract with the New York Yankees Thursday. Frank will first report to mini-camp in Tampa, FL before joining the Staten Island Yankees of the New York Penn League. Frank had 243 hits in 229 career games as a Tiger over four seasons and was a member of five NCAA Tournament teams. He also committed just three errors in 395 career chances in centerfield. He hit 14 homers and drove in 138 runs as well. In 2003, he hit .322 with nine homers and 48 RBIs. Steve Pyzik Signs Free Agent Contract With the Braves Catcher hit .305 in his senior season. Clemson, SC - Steve Pyzik (Mount Airy, MD) signed a free-agent contract with the Atlanta Braves Thursday. In four seasons as a catcher at Clemson, he drove in 57 runs in 168 games and committed just five errors. He also had 18 sacrifice bunts. His value to the Clemson program came as a defensive standout, as he was exceptional at blocking balls in the dirt and handling the Tiger pitchers. In 2003, Pyzik hit .305 with a homer, triple, six doubles, and 15 RBIs in 43 games. He also did not commit an error in 204 chances as a senior. He had two career walkoff hits and had the game-winning hit against Princeton in the Auburn Regional. He was a member of four NCAA Tournament teams and played in two College World Series.
