Clemson Selected as #2 Seed in Athens Baseball Regional

CLEMSON – Clemson’s baseball season will continue after being selected to the NCAA Tournament as the #2 seed in the Athens, GA Regional. This will be Clemson's 30th trip to an NCAA Regional dating back to the 1947 season.



The Tigers (36-24) have been to the NCAA Tournament every year since 1987, making College World Series appearances in 1991, 1995, 1996, 2000, and 2002. Clemson's streak of 18 consecutive regionals is the third longest active streak in the country behind Miami (FL) with 32 and Florida State's 27 in a row. Clemson's streak of 18 in a row is the fifth longest streak in college baseball history.

Tournament books as well as single game ticket prices for the NCAA Baseball Athens Regional are the following:
A Reserved tournament book will be $60, a General Admission tournament book will be $48 for adults and $36 for students/youth (college age and younger). Single game ticket prices are $10 for Reserved, $8 for General Admission and $6 for students/youth (college age and younger). Tournament books can be purchased on-line via UGA's web site at www.georgiadogs.com through Wednesday, June 2. Also, tickets can be purchased at the UGA ticket office, located on the third floor of the Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall Building. Fans purchasing tournament books on-line can pick those tickets up at the Butts-Mehre Building through Thursday, and then all tournament books and tickets will be available at the will call window at Foley Field.


The winner of the Athens Regional advances to a Super Regional with those sites to be announced Sunday, June 6 at 11 p.m. on ESPN.
