CLEMSON – The good news coming out of Clemson’s Monday morning practice was that right tackle Gifford Timothy Gifford Timothy

is recovering well after his surgery and might be back at practice by the end of the next week.

"He looks good. It was the best case scenario for us, from that standpoint,” Swinney said of Timothy. “With him being an offensive lineman, it gives him an even better opportunity to get back as opposed to being a receiver or running back, something like that it might be different. So far so good, but it will be a daily deal.

"I'm hopeful, by the time we get ready for our mock game a week from Friday, I'm hopeful that he'll be able to take some reps, at least have a chance to have a game week of preparation. We'll just have to wait and see. It'll just be a pain tolerance and how he responds to the rehab."

Swinney then updated the status of linebacker Justin ParkerJustin Parker

, who will redshirt this season with a groin injury.

Swinney said that Parker will head home to Charleston on Tuesday and will have surgery on Wednesday.

"They're going to go in and try to do a little type of release thing in his abductor area, his groin area, to hopefully get him feeling a little bit better,” Swinney said.
