I like where we are to start and I still think Michigan is overrated.

Concur! Michigan was sounding like they'd miss the coach...

4 games, but apparently that was shot down. So, they do even know for sure who's coaching them to start the season yet.

Yep, it has always seemed that some of our better team that showed out during the season were always overlooked by the talking heads. Right now, there is a lot of experience with the guys that will be starters this season, and they believe with the changes made from last season to this season were changes that will help them compete at a higher level, and they believe they are a lot better than they're getting credit for being, and that helps them to work harder just to prove everybody wrong that's looking down on them. I believe that if the talent on this team can stay healthy, they are probably a team that can compete for the Natty!!!

unranked, ranked #2, and ranked #2 in the preseason in our previous three National Championship winning seasons. Only 8 teams to pass is a mere bagatelle.

I’d rather be ranked in the top 4 to start the season…

Kinda like we were when the program was ascending from 2015-2020. Since the first game of 2021 we‘ve been fading. Ranked #9 means we can afford zero losses and even then some would debate whether we get in over a one loss TN, Bama, MI or OH St.
We lost respect over the last two seasons for a number of reasons most of which are quite obvious and deserved. This is the season to find out if the glory days are over.

Sorry, but I don’t see game one answering “a ton” of questions- maybe 2 or 3 questions. However, after Sept 23rd we’ll have 90%+ questions answered. GO TIGERS!!!

Keep in mind that if Dabo feels that he can beat Duke without showing much of our offensive scheme, that is the way the game will be played, showing as little as possible to get the win. And everybody will be saying negative crap about the team until the end of the season when they look up and Clemson is undefeated.
With the addition of Garrett and Kludnik, and with our RBs, and with our Receivers healthy and making plays all season, the people that actually know college FB knows when Dabo is holding his team back. Most of the time with most teams we play every season, Dabo will pull the starters and start filling the lineup with 2nd and 3rd team players, the playoff committee knows exactly what Dabo is doing, they know for a fact that he is holding his cards close to his chest and not allowing teams we will have to play see his hand. Most of the fans hate that about Dabo, but it works for him, and as long as it works he won't change it and run the score up to please the ones that don't have his responsibly that he has of winning games.
If we are 12-0 going into the ACC championship game, I believe even if we only won by a point against FSU or whoever was the next best team in the ACC, we go to the playoffs period!!!

Meh. Penn state?! Can’t win the big games. LSU?! Maybe. We may be ranked a bit high because of what we’ve done with Dabo. I hope we are underrated and make another championship run. Waiting to see the receivers step up and defense play to their potential. That is also up to the offense being able to give the defense some rest. I hope we play to our potential. If we do, it’s going to be an amazing year.

I actually think Penn State will beat Michigan but not Ohio State. They have MI at home and OSU away.

I'm with Mark Packer. The AP poll is crap. The first poll is nothing more than a media popularity contest. I do agree the Tigers have something to prove, so #9 is a fine start for me. On the other hand, I think we wave a playoff caliber team this year. Didn't feel that way the last two seasons. Go Tigers!

About right but I was hoping we would up 1 higher. Clemson needs to take it one game at a time and win them all especially that September 23 game.

If you're in the SEC or B10 it doesn't really matter if you even win your division or conference championship. Remember when we went 15-0 with Trevor. Dabo said the next year we wouldn't get into the playoff without another blank slate, which we accomplished. Back in the day the media chose the natty winners. That's one reason we were unranked pre '81 and needed to run the table. Nothing really changes through the ages.
