pull something stupid on special teams. I was not a fan of the fake punts the last two weeks....both calls were SO bad I'm almost thinking they did it to just force opponents to take it into consideration.
I was also NOT a fan of the rooskie play last year when Mafah fumbled, which really was the moment the dirtpeckers got back into the game.
If we play smart and conservative on special teams---while avoiding turnovers---we win this thing.
On offense:
RUN the dang ball. Avoid the fumble. Why we got away from running the ball in the 2nd half last year when the dirtpeckers were playing a soft cover 1 or cover 0 defense is simply beyond me. We CANNOT get away from running against those idiots.
On defense:
Don't allow Rattled to extend plays because he absolutely LOVES to roll right and throw to Leggette. He plays hero ball and I think he throws some picks tonight. I think they will try and pick on Mukuba, who played hurt last year (and it showed). I also think Khalil Barnes come up big tonight.
If we score at least 28 points (which I believe we will), we win.

I see no evidence they can stop the run even if they stack the line. If we can force them to come up CK can make some throws deep and this thing could get ugly fast!

With both Collins and Randall hurt, Tyler from Greenville will have opportunities to come up big tonight. Also need Stellato to show out in the slot. Brinny and Sapp will have their opportunities as well.

I was at that game last year and I commented to my daughter at the half that we needed to insert Cade Klubnik to start the second half. The reason being that we had a 9 point lead thanks to Shipley’s running. But the obvious defensive adjustment for South Carolina was to bring some of their backside help up in run support.
DJ had been being DJ, unable to get the ball downfield. There was just simply no need for two safeties playing deep and every need to bring at least one of them up in run support.
Go back and roll the tape, that’s what happened. They essentially put a spy on Shipley and correctly bet that DJ couldn’t get the job done when they left him opportunities to throw it.

I hope that coach Swinneys team tonight plays as well as coach BB’s did last night!
I bet that they Will Not!
Neither opponent is very good.
We will learn quickly this evening if the Tigers are ready to play.
Talent wise, the Tigers are better than the gamecocks. Talent will take you only so far!

biggest concern - turnovers
next concern - 'cute' plays at bad times (fake punt in own territory or some multi-handoff play, etc)

Actually the most stupid play I've seen was the rooskie the noles pulled against us. It worked.
