When you’re sitting around with nothing to do - walk. Let it become a habit. Happy, sad, worried, bored, angry - just walk it off. All it takes is a pair of shoes. And some clothes if you don’t want to be arrested. And it’s a great time to pray.

Yippee!!! Believe me you’ll absolutely love it. I haven’t regretted retiring one iota. Our next big trip will be Scotland and Ireland in September. Of course we’ll be going to Hilton Head for a week at July 4th as always.
Just stay busy, and you’ll never look back.
Again… CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You should still be getting a paycheck. It just comes from somewhere other than an employer. We are living off savings and we have a set amount moved from our retirement account into our checking each month, just like my payroll checks when I was working. The checking account and daily activities have not changed. The direct deposit just comes from our own account, and at some point there will also be a deposit made by Social Security.

I restored cars while I was teaching. So teaching wasn't everything to me. When I retired, I still restored cars, so I had something to do and enjoyed it. I have stopped restoring for customers now and am just doing my own . . . finally!! So the key is, love your days of deciding what you will be doing . .BUT DO SOMETHING ENJOYABLE !!! :)

Another thing is be sure to eat healthily. I retired at 65 weighing nearly 300 lbs. 12 years later I’m at 205, mainly from growing a big organic garden and working my ### off taking care of it and my grandkids. Don’t worry- be happy.
