Anyone else think this whole Real ID thing is a scam? Unless they start requiring it to get into Memorial Stadium or to access #$@&hub.com, it’s a big no for me.

#$@&hub.com is blocked in most states because of some puritanical nonsense.
Also, it's just for air travel. Your ID/drivers license will work for everything else.

Real ID is your State ID/DL. If you get a new DL, it's a Real ID. That's all this is - a renewed driver's license.

I can see that and agree. I went to the website and it says you can still fly, vote, enter federal buildings (including the post office), etc. If you work in a federal building you need one. If you work at a nuclear facility you need one. If you work at either of those, I would assume you have ID's out the wazoo anyway.
Then why the deadline? Why the big push to get one? Why didn't they just come out and say "bring the information you need when you get your DL renewed?" Maybe they did and I missed it.

No. You can get a DL without Real ID. The Real ID requires Birth Certificate and proof of citizenship. I don't have a Real ID and just renewed my license. I have a passport so I don't need Real ID.

Well yes, if you choose not to get a Real ID, you can. But it's still just a DL renewal process to get one.

Just in case anyone was wondering. My wife is not a US citizen however she was able to get a Real ID as her SC driver’s license.

I got mine like 6 years ago and they told us then it would be required at some point. It got pushed back a million times. People have had plenty of time

And they’ve still got time. I’m not taking a plane until September and not planning on having to be in any federal buildings any time soon. So I’m not seeing the need to go tearing off to the DMV just because their deadline is here this week.

It's really not a scam. Because the left has allowed many illegals to get drivers licenses without proving they were American citizens. Now (because of this) (at least for now) you have to show a drivers license with a start in the upper right hand corner.
Since 2005 congress has put the US citizenship requirement to all driver licenses.
I know all this because in 2005 I moved from Lexington Kentucky to Woodstock Ga and got this new divers license then.
Everyone calls it a REAL ID. Maybe it is, but that sounds hokey.

Your citizenship is tied to your Social Security number, not your driver's license, which you have to provide on a voter registration application. This is handled by the Social Security Administration.

The criteria for RealID is the same (In NJ it is the 6 points of ID) that was used for decades before they gave them out like candy to anybody.

Except that’s wrong. The reason for real IDs came out of the 9/11 commission to better secure air travel under the Bush administration in 2005.
But if we ignore something for 20 years a podcast can make up a new narrative out of thin air and call it a fact to incite anger and drive up listenership to sell ads.

Uh, the government has never had the funs to pay for anything without it being taxpayer money. The government provides no goods or services that earn a dime. It all comes from us taxpayers. Government is a parasite that has grown exponentially over the course of our history and as we are seeing brought to light right in front of us has been used to scam, steal, re-allot wealth to grifters, crooks and thieves!

In James chapter 5, people have gold & silver that is cankered (gangrene) and serves as a witness against them and it burns their flesh as fire. Gold & silver is used in the creation of microchips and those who take the mark of the beast receive a noisome, grievious sore (Revelation 16).
