What year was that when Clemson got into the big maylay with Maryland,I think.
Ford had to sit in the press box the next week.

3rd down pass play at UNC the week before.The UNC receiver caught the ball on the first hop and it was ruled complete. That play kept UNC in the game and the Tar Heels scored late and won.
The 1985 Maryland game was an ugly game from an officiating standpoint. There were tons of personal fouls. Mostly off setting calls. The officals never took control of the game. It was so bad the officals got booed at halftime as they exited the field. Sadly, there was a beat down on our sideline of a Maryland player who ran out of bounds into the Clemson bench late in the game.
Danny's national TV cussing fit got him a spot in the coaches box for the 1986 Maryland game. The next year (1986) Bobby Ross pulled on an officals shoulder and cussed him out after Maryland played and lost to UNC.
There were rumors that Danny asked Coach Howard to coach the team on the sideline at Maryland 1986. Coach Howard responded by saying #### yeh, If you gimme yo paycheck!

The call at UNC was the worst that I have seen in college football. I wish there was a re play of that for the youngsters to see.

At maryland game i was lookin at 25 second clock and screaming that it was at "0" long before play started. I was telling everyone play was coming back. I may have been on of the worst blown calls in history. Banny was correct on both counts!

I was at that game too. Total BS play. The 25 second clock ran out, and the ball bounced off the guy's hands. He never had it.

I love how calm and cool he looks running on the field... then unleashes on them. By the time he walks off the field he looks like he could physically take all of them dowm at the same time!
