Without doing a small research, Was the Ump yesterday for the Coastal/LSU game the same we had against Florida last year? If so there should be an investigation. I know it won't happen because the SEC and the NCAA go together like peas and carrots.

I won't even get into how I feel about LSU fans

is the one who ejected Cam Cannarella in the super-regional against UTenn.

Billy Van Raaphorst is the one who ejected Bakich against UFla last year.

Why not just admit and say something like, despite losing their head coach and 1st base coach in the first inning, Coastal put up a great fight against LSU before falling 5-3. LSU has won 2 of the last 3 National Championships and is arguably the best program in the nation.

Umpires, basketball and football officials are professionals and are judged every game and as humans, do the best job they can do. Yelling at baseball umpires has always been a part of the game but it appears the Coastal guy went too far. Losing the coach did not cost Coastal the game and LSU was just simply the best team.

This guy has a trigger happy history of ejections - he should

never be allowed to advance to calling the biggest games. He doesn’t have what it takes to be in that position.

Because the bias was so stinking obvious! Coastal was the hottest team in Baseball but the entire team forgot how to hit? No the ump made them swing at pitches that were not strikes or be called out looking. If I did not believe that on Saturday night then the ump shenanigans and over reactions on Sunday sure confirmed it for me!

I couldn’t watch till 7th inning. What happened to get Coastals coaches tossed. Ms said it was so noisy she couldn’t hear explainations.

nothing more deflating than an umpire expanding the strike zone late in games.

especially when the pitcher is throwing 100 mph every pitch. Its already hard enough. The second batter in the 9th last night took a pitch around his shoulders for a strike one call. That just sets you up for having to swing at whatever is thrown and swinging at a high heater is pretty much a lost cause. ITs like the umps get in that mode of "its time to go home boys."

LSU had the shut down pitchers. And thats what you have to have to win in omaha. They had a handful of them. The years that SCAR won their championships I remember they had a couple of star pitchers as starters and relievers. ITs akin to having our elite defensive lines when we won our most recent championships in football. Everyone has good hitters at that championship level but not everyone has those pitchers.

I posted this once before; Since the MCWS is played in the same location every year, they could install the necessary cameras and let the computer call balls and strikes. That way, we take out the strike zone debate. Apparently, umps are greatly influenced by the catchers moving their mitts. 🙄

catchers framing the pitch feels like flopping in basketball

The intention is to influence the official into thinking he saw something that was untrue. Yet in one sport, that behavior is considered unsportsmanlike.

No point in humans calling balls and strikes

If baseball wanted to get rid of this they would take a hint from tennis and get it perfect every time. My guess is most fans want it to be subjective (or the governing bodies believe it to be true), so it stays this way. With the sport expanding to more and more teams, the probability to find/train true professionals anymore gets lower and lower.
