pell and then coach FORD who really put clemson on the map in football.

i saw some of the greatest tigers in that era like steve fuller jerry butler homer jordan perry tuttle the fridge and micheal dean, jeff davis rodney williams terry kinard brian dawkins donald igwebeke obid ariri gadocki catman raymond priester terry allen kenny flowers jeff bostic.

then tommy west arrived after hatfield and it was ugly for years until bowden arrived and got the university to spend some money for facilities but we could not get over the hump.

so enter dabo sweeny the young energetic christian family man and yes cheerleader who can recruit
players like dw3 tl12 nuke hopkins travis et and it goes on and on.

i am very thankful to have coach sweeny running our football program he has taken cu football to new heights and has represented the clemson brand totally all in.

i have the good the bad an the ugly and the greatest tiger football has.

and i would not trade it for any thing at all.

go tigers beat notre dame east.

I am 53, so Red Parker is the first Clemson coach I remember. I agree on all points.

I was at Clemson during the Hootie Ingram, Red Parker days. In a word....dreadful. This year's Tigers would destroy any of those teams, even with this year's lousy offense. The only great player I remember from 1972-1976 was Benny Cunningham, a tight end who went on to play for the tremendous Steelers teams of the late '70s. Believe me, this is a nice season compared to the ones back in the day. Charlie Pell is the guy who turned it around. And then he handed the reigns to Danny Ford. And the rest was history.
