We are in the midst of the most successful era in Clemson basketball history. Every Clemson fan should be thrilled and excited. If they aren’t, I question their fandom.

What hypocrisy?
I evaluate sports based on their history, funding, administrative support, fan support, conference membership, etc. Basically, taking into account advantages and disadvantages.
The obvious conclusion is that Clemson football and Clemson basketball are very different in all of the above, and should be evaluated differently.
I love both, but I am not going to pretend to love everything Dabo does or that Clemson football does just because that's the company line. I know it's expected in these parts, but I don't see it that way.
I was very happy with Clemson football from about 2013 until 2020. Dabo was outstanding. We were an outstanding program, arguably the best in college football for a 5 year stretch in the late 2010s. Then things changed. I became more critical and disgruntled as a result, especially since I felt that our decline could have been prevented with better decisions at the top.
Clemson basketball has worked its tail off to overcome challenges our football program has never had. We often punch above our weight class. The program is thriving today. It's easy to get behind them, and I find it really enjoyable - much more enjoyable than Clemson football has been lately.
This doesn't make me a hypocrite.

It 100% makes you a hypocrite. You are nothing but negative about the football program.
You try to hide this under the guise of evaluating it based on things like fan support and resources. Your rationalization is because the basketball team isn't funded to the same level as the football team, that this somehow means that the football team is failing. It is not.
For one, almost all schools have more funding for their football programs than their basketball programs. That's by necessity, because you have over 80 players on the football team versus around 15 or so on the basketball team. Of course football is almost always going to have more funding.
The other issue is, the football team is generally performing to where it's funded. Our football team does not have as much funding as places like Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas Alabama, Georgia, etc. Even at that, the team has still managed to win at least 10 games in four out of the last 5 years, has won an ACC Championship twice, two bowl wins, made the playoffs once and made a New Year's six bowl.
Once again you are nothing but negative about the football team. And yes it is 100% hypocritical.

No offense to you Judge. Poster’s on Tigernet do not realize that it’s quite common for Clemson fans not only call out other fans but some can be quite vocal and disrespectful to our coaches and players.
Now the question may be, is it OK to call out coaches since they make a good deal of money. And now Is it ok to call out players by name because they are no longer college amateur athletes. They are being paid to play college football plus still get a Free education for those who will take advantage of it.
Just my opinion. I am for doing away with athletic scholarships. If the athletes are being paid let them pay their own way like most students have to do. Make it simple. They have agents and now have free agency (TP). IMO as HC’s who were against NIL get out of the game and the next generation of coaches step up into a system they played in buckle up fans because we will be the hardest hit financially.
I look for all of this BS to trickle down to amateur travel teams and HS’s in the next few years.
As the greed gets worse fans calling out fans will really escalate.

Judge isn’t a Clemson fan. More of a hypocrite. The people who complain about Brownell only want to win the winnable games and have success. However, he/she waits to find every opportunity to show that they are not a Clemson fan in any other sport

I don't mind when people have a basis for their criticism. In the case of our football program recently, we have significant data showing our offensive struggles. I don't know when I made the posts you referenced, but I can guarantee you they were based on actual data rather than blind negativity.
In contrast, this "February slide" in basketball predicted by our fans was based on what exactly? Last February, we were 6-2. That's really good. And this season, leading up to the Duke game, we were 10-2 in the ACC, and 3 of our 5 losses were in overtime. We have shown no penchant for struggling nor was there any basis for the doom and gloom predictions other than fans just wanting to criticize.

I kept those 2 posts that you made at the beginning of the season because they are so typical of your attitude toward the the football coaches and program and I was pretty sure at some point you would lie about your “support” for the football program. You are that predictable.
You said “ If our offense is truly going to be significantly improved, it will mean that we have made extremely rapid improvement in the last few months. I hope it's true, but I find it hard to believe.” You were doing exactly the same thing as those who predicted we would lose to Duke if we played like we did against GT. And now you have a poast dedicated to calling those people out. And you don’t have any data to support your allegations of what they said. Your negative predictions for the football team are right here for everyone to see. And no, I don’t obsess. But I do deal in facts and like to have proof to back up my points. Thank you for providing that proof. Multiple times over.

So you are going to come on here after the GT loss and say we would have beaten Duke? UNC I could see they are horrible. Hind sight is 20/20 but most have been around a long time and know what we have witnessed in the past.
Easy to criticize after the fact. Had they lost you would not have been found for 3-4 days. Enjoy the win and leave the condemnation somewhere else. You deserve a few down votes but I see you are already at 77 and most already know who you are.

I thought we might. I didn’t come out and say it. We still seem to drop the odd layup game here and there. Memphis, SC, and GT. Although Tech is playing good ball. I’m glad to see this two year run. The Brad has learned to win the big games and not lose all the gimmies. Dabo had to learn this as well. It’s a great time to be a Tiger. All the time!

I believe there are Clemson "fans" and coot trolls on here that might relish that.
I do wonder if some of the fans find more joy in posting/replying after a loss. In some cases you may want to look at posters' activity after a loss vs a win. Those are the ones I question as true fans.
For instance, if you look at activity after the tech loss vs our last two victories. That might out a few of the "fans."
Can't track the trolls, they just slither around.

But, let's be cautiously optimistic. There is a lot of basketball yet to play this month.
And yet I find myself daring to hope and believe that this program has actually turned the corner the way the football program did back in 2015 when they won all the games they were suppposed to win and ensconced themselves as one of the premier programs in the land.
Yes, it will have taken Brad twice as long to do that as it did Dabo. But such comparison are probably unfair.

I agree, but I'm also going to enjoy this without pointing fingers. OK, OK, maybe a few, but I'll keep it isolated to a few known trolls.
Some of the largest critics go into hibernation for days at a time when we win like this. Hopefully this will shut them up until the next loss.
Our GREATEST win EVER against an ACC team! A record tying winning margin against a talented, yet poorly coached UNC team (one that can no longer crow about streaks). I'll take it!

The people who posted after the GT game can play your game. Most said IF we play like we did against GT, then we will lose to Duke.
We did not play the same way against Duke and we won. So those comments were not wrong. We played much better against Duke and we won so now they can be happy because we played to our potential against Duke and NC although we underachieved against GT.
Did I do that right? I know I left out taking shots at the coaches like you do the football coaches but I’m just not that kind of guy.

I took the time to review original posts after the GT game

and found no such posts so the "multiple" ones you are referencing must have been within the responses. The vast majority of posts following the game were either optimistic about future games or just expressing frustration about the one game. If you can take the time , please dig deeper and show us the "multiple " predictions of a "slide".
