Matt Williams. Just realized I played with him on some travel teams in HS. His dad, Steve Williams, was the best pitching coach that I was ever around. He was the HC at Lancaster. Matt must have learned a lot from him and is doing him proud. Definitely pulling for Coastal now.

Side story: Steve irritated my college coach by working with me in the bullpen during an actual game (due to knowing me previously)....until he realized he had made more progress in 5 minutes than his staffer had in 2 years.

I spent 35 years in Lancaster. My wife was a guidance counselor at LHS. Definitely some great baseball players from Lancaster.

Matt Williams was at Liberty before and I remember several people on this board and other Clemson messageboards who really wanted Matt Williams after Andrew See was fired... time will tell if we made the right hire because he's got those guys dialed in.
