The Tigers have a roster of pitch to contact pitchers. Similar to Monte Lee, Rittman has done little to recruit an elite pitching after Jamieson found Cagle for him. 6th season after all the success should have resulted in more. Maybe Cintron will develop into a top pitcher but for now it’s looking rough against teams with a pulse.

Hate being negative but this team is going to struggle all year. So I hope the fans are patient because at times this year it is going to be ugly. Half the lineup is freshmen who are going to struggle to produce any consistent offense. The pitching is mediocre at best & the defense so far has been atrocious. That’s not a combination that is going to beat many good teams. This is what I expected the softball team to look like to start the program not in year number 6. The momentum of the great start to the program wasn’t fully utilized to recruit better once those initial players moved on.

Hopefully playing this brutal SEC schedule because that’s what it feels like,hopefully it will pay dividends when the Tigers are playing ACC competition…Just imagine being in the conference playing in all sports.it test F’ing nerves that is for sure

Problem is these SEC teams they are playing so far are mid tier to below mid tier SEC teams. These aren’t the cream of the crop. These aren’t the Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma & Texas’s of the SEC we have been playing. So as bad as it’s been it really would be ugly if they were playing these caliber of teams.

and that is what is so frustrating about the whole thing,why are they not prepared and ready to play even the lower echelon teams in the SEC and when it comes to recruiting they should have been ready for this moment with everybody they lost from what got them to where they were the last 4 years…I hate when Clemson teams get in rebuilding modes and not continuing the success that they had

Of the 15 programs in the SEC:
Missouri was 9
Auburn was preseason 13
Ole Miss was preseason 14
The programs you listed (Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, Florida) would run rule this Clemson team.

We were all Valerie for the past couple of seasons. Rittman got the program started, but it's gonna take a younger energetic coach to build it bigger. No knock on Rittman. I think he could stay with tbe Athletic deportment in some capacity, but this season is not going to go well.
