And come across a thread about our spring game and in the comments someone writes that "as bad as our qb situation supposedly is, none of their 3 healthy qb's this spring would ever start for us". Can you believe how delusional these people are.

I could actually understand a rival saying that Nick and Tucker might not start for various reasons but if I was Carolina right now I would be pissed that someone like Bryant didn't come to Columbia and turn into a superstar there if he can figure it all out in a year or two. The funny part is they would kill to get someone half as good as Watson who is our starting QB. I mean how hard is it to say you don't want your rival's backup QB's?
The really funny part is I think I said the exact opposite at work the other day, not one of Carolina's QB's would start at Clemson ever. Or at least I wouldn't want us to give any of those players a scholarship with the way they look right now.

Tucker Isreal would be their #2 guy the day he walked onto campus , and he is just a little experience away from being a #1 in Cootlumbia. Shuessler is better than anything they have. Bryant is too ...by a wide margin. Deshaun is one of the best QBs in the land , and that is no exaggerated claim .

I like our QB's too but I am only saying I can understand a rival say that they don't want our backup QB's who have little to no experience in a real game.
I am also not very high on Tucker right now, I just think he is too small to holdup to the punishment of college football. I hope I am wrong and he comes in and tears teams apart late in mop up games.
To be honest I am pretty sure that if Watson stays healthy that this really matters if any of these guys are that good as Watson should play every game he is healthy for 2 years and maybe 3 if he stays. Then these same QB's are going to fighting it out with Cooper, who is said to be the next Watson coming in next year and able to redshirt then once Watson leaves he can step in and none of these 3 QBs ever see snaps in a meaningful game and this is all a silly argument anyway.

If it was anybody but Spurrier, I would say - They Are Doomed.
Spurrier is very good at coming up with stuff that works, with what he has. Don't underestimate the guy. He's won as many games as he has for a reason - and it isn't his work ethic, it isn't his recruiting ability - which rates right down there with Paul Johnson...like, bad - and it surely isn't his likeable personality. It's because he knows how to dial up and call plays like few other guys in the history of the game.
My best guess - based on what I've seen Spurrier do in the past - is that he'll recognize he simply does not have a starting QB. So what you're almost certainly going to see is, Spurrier will just roll them. If you know Spurrier's history, you'd know he doesn't regard a QB as any different than any other player on the field; he'll yank 'em in and out on a whim, and they just had better be able to deal with that. We traditionally associate the 4-wide spread with Spurrier because that's how he started, but he's added more than a few wrinkles since he got to South Carolina, up to and including the option. Say what you want about Spurrier, he's adapted, and has not let the grass grow under his feet. I'd say you'll see him come out with 3-4 packages with a different QB for each, and just let each guy run what they do well. I would expect those 3-4 to also include Pharoah Cooper seeing some time under center...he won't want to do it full-time, because Cooper, by definition, cannot catch passes if he's also throwing them, but he will also be aware that Cooper is without question the only guy he has who can throw and also run.
Again, history tells us they will look comically bad doing this at first. And then they will play Georgia, and everything will - as if by magic, which it may well be - click beautifully. Mark Richt will get owned yet again, and you'll see him striving for mild-mannered detachment while he stares balefully across the sidelines at his grinning visored nemesis, obviously wishing he had a gun. He's going to shoot Spurrier in the face someday, he really will, and then probably just by way of confirming he has indeed gone stone buggy, will also probably rip Spurrier's heart out at the 50 and eat it. SOS is in his head just that bad. If you think Spurrier was in Dabo's head, this particular whammy goes back, like, 20+ years now to when Richt was the OC at Florida State.
But South Carolina doesn't have anything resembling a starting QB right now. That would bother anybody except Steve Spurrier. So he'll just do what he does...which is make chicken salad out of mostly chicken feathers. We've all seen this ###### too many times before for me to be fooled again.

If I had $10K I would probably take you up on that.
I think UNC probably wipes them off the field - UNC's offense is no joke, and while their D was as putrid as South Carolina's last year, they return literally every starter on O, whereas I expect Spurrier to show up for the opener in his golf shoes with Augusta grass still in them, as is his usual wont. He's...casual, about gearing up for the season, whatever. When he's playing UCF or Alcorn State or Vandy he gets away with it. When he's playing Texas A&M, he doesn't.
Usually by the Georgia game, though, he's decided it's time to coach some football again, and by then he's actually learned enough of his players' names that he can come up with something resembling a coherent gameplan...something Richt has never really quite managed no matter how much talent he has.

But I'd hope he'd understand, there's a difference starting a freshman that came in in January and starting one that shows up weeks before the season. Not to mention,Nunez will never be on the DW level. From I've seen so far out of NS with Streeter as a QB coach, he's better than anything they'd have a chance to start this year AND both of our early entry freshmen are also.

Not nearly in the same proportion.
For instance, if the mods ran this site like the fgf mods you wouldn't be here right now. You woulda been ban a long time ago.
Those mods ban anyone who makes a negative comment about the Gamecocks. This eliminates any discussion and fills the board with mindless unrealistic chicken pumping goobers.

Why would they talk about our back ups, when it was our one legged True Freshman starter that kicked the living Chit out of them. The deal is with them, they don't want to mention DW's name bc its to embarrassing and painful for them to speak his name even under their breath. Suck it #### coots, our two freshman QBs you don't have to worry about. Its our sophomore QB that kicked their teeth in as a freshman that they still have to worry about.
